Formed in 2010 as an indie Brit-rock band, The Speakers have evolved into a distinctive fusion of new wave, electronic rock, synthwave, cinematic sound, and post-punk. Known for their retro-cinematic style, the band creates music that reflects life, society, and the human experience.
Across three albums — Break the Borders (2012), The Right Path (2017), and Cinematic Shadow Prophecies (2025) — The Speakers have developed a signature sound that combines music with fashion, film, and visual aesthetics into an immersive sonic world.
Their work transforms societal themes into evocative, thoughtful music delivered with style, precision, and depth. More than just collections of songs, their albums create a sonic and visual universe, drawing listeners into an experience that feels both immersive and reflective.
They have shared stages with international acts including Arcade Fire, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Awolnation, Morcheeba, and Republica, performed at festivals in London and Rome, and are recognized as pioneers of the Romanian synth-pop and electro-rock scene.

This policy explains how The Speakers (“we”, “us”) handle personal data in connection with this website. It covers this site only — not the third-party platforms we link to, which have their own policies.
Questions about anything here: contact@thespeakersofficial.com
The contact form, the merch order panel and the newsletter field send what you type to our own server over an encrypted connection. The server does not keep it: it passes the message straight to our mailbox and discards it. What reaches us is your name, your email address, and either the text you wrote or, for merch, the item and size you selected. We use that only to reply and to deal with the matter you raised.
Your email address is put in the Reply-To field so we can answer you. The message is sent from our own address, never from yours, and we never send anything in your name.
Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or steps taken at your request before entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) where your message concerns a booking or an order.
If you subscribe, your address reaches us by email and we add it to a list used to send occasional updates about releases, videos and shows. Nothing else.
Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can withdraw it at any time by replying “unsubscribe” to any message, or by writing to us. Withdrawing consent does not affect messages already sent.
We run no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising scripts, and we set no cookies of our own. Nothing is stored in your browser by us.
As with any website, the hosting provider that serves these pages may record standard technical connection data in its server logs — IP address, timestamp, the file requested, browser type — for security and troubleshooting. We do not use those logs to profile anyone and do not combine them with anything else.
So that the forms cannot be abused to send bulk mail, the server counts how many messages come from one connection. It stores only timestamps, in a file named after a one-way hash of your IP address — the address itself is never written down, and the count is discarded after a few minutes. If a message fails to send, the technical reason is written to the server’s error log; the content of your message is not.
Legal basis for both: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Parts of the page load from other companies’ servers. When that happens your browser sends them your IP address and basic technical details directly. This is how the web works and it happens without passing through us.
We have no access to, and no control over, what those services do with the data their servers receive.
The icons and buttons pointing to Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music are ordinary links. We do not embed their tracking widgets. Nothing is shared with them until you click, and from that point their terms and policies apply instead of ours.
Emails are kept for as long as it takes to handle the matter, and afterwards only while there is a reason to keep them — a booking record, or a legal obligation. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. When there is no longer a reason, we delete them.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal data, and we do not share it with anyone except where we are required to by law or need to in order to defend a legal claim. Our email provider necessarily processes messages in transit and at rest, as any email provider does.
Under the GDPR you may ask us to confirm what data we hold about you and give you a copy; correct anything wrong; delete it; restrict or object to how we use it; or hand it over in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Write to contact@thespeakersofficial.com. We will respond within one month.
If you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to the Romanian supervisory authority, ANSPDCP — www.dataprotection.ro — or to the authority in your own EU country.
This site is not directed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
There is no login, no payment processing and no user database on this site, which removes most of the usual risk. Form submissions travel over an encrypted connection and are handed straight to our mailbox rather than stored.
Email itself, however, is not an encrypted medium once it leaves us — please do not send us sensitive information such as health data, identity documents or payment card details, either through the forms or by writing to us directly.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will be announced on the site.

These terms govern your use of this website, the official site of The Speakers (“we”, “us”). By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

All material here — recordings, videos, photographs, artwork, album covers, the logo, the name “The Speakers”, the design and the text — is protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights, and belongs to us or to those who licensed it to us.
You may view the site, share links to it, and quote short extracts with clear attribution for personal, editorial or journalistic purposes.
You may not, without our written permission:
Press and media may use the photographs and artwork supplied in our press materials for coverage of the band, keeping credits intact. For anything else, write to press@thespeakersofficial.com.
Our recordings are made available through the streaming platforms we link to. Playback on this site is provided by YouTube’s embedded player and is subject to YouTube’s own terms. Downloading, ripping or re-uploading our recordings is not permitted.
The merch section is a showcase. The items shown are designs and mock-ups, and the prices displayed are indicative only. They are not an offer to sell.
“View product” opens a panel where you pick a size and give your name and email address, and “Place order” sends that to us as a message. Sending it is an enquiry, not an order: no contract is formed by sending or receiving it, and nothing is charged. If and when we can fulfil a request we will reply with the actual price, availability, delivery cost and delivery time. Any sale is concluded — and governed — by the terms set out in that exchange.
Full sales terms, including your right of withdrawal, will be published on this page before online ordering opens.
Subscribing is voluntary and free, and brings occasional updates about releases, videos and shows. You can unsubscribe at any time — see the Privacy Policy.
Messages sent through the contact form or to our booking, management and press addresses are handled individually. Nothing on this site is an offer to perform, and no booking exists until it is confirmed in writing and any separate agreement is signed.
This site links to and embeds material from third-party platforms. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. A link is not an endorsement. When you use them, their terms apply.
We provide this site as it is and as it is available. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or remove any part of it at any time without notice. Details such as release dates, show listings and product information may change.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, including lost data or lost profit. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are not affected.
Do not attempt to interfere with the site, gain unauthorised access to it, or use automated systems to harvest its content beyond ordinary search-engine indexing.
We may update these terms. The version published here, carrying the date at the top of the page, is the one that applies.
These terms are governed by Romanian law, and disputes fall to the competent courts of Romania. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country’s law.
